Cana II is a marriage preparation series for couples in which a) one or both have been married before, or b) one or both spouses will have a minor stepchild(ren). The Saturday session includes the Prepare/Enrich DVD communication/conflict series as well as marriage spirituality. Couples with no children, or adult children, may take the Saturday session only, or PREP as an alternative. Couples with stepchildren under age 18 should take the Saturday session and the Active Parenting for Stepfamilies video series, which teaches skills needed for healthy stepfamilies. The cost per couple is $125 for both the Saturday session and Active Parenting.

Cana II FAQ
Who is Cana II for? Cana II is recommended for couples where one or both of the couples have been in a previous marriage and that have minor children under the age of 17.
What should I expect during the day? The Cana II day is designed to provide couples facing remarriages with a psychoeducational relationship building skills workshop. Topics include the 5 Love Languages, Communication/Conflict techniques, Finances in Remarriage, Stepfamily issues and Sacramental Marriage. Part 1 is the Cana II day; Part 2 focuses on building a stepfamily and parenting issues utilizing the Active Parenting Step-parenting program.
Is Mass required as part of the day? Mass is highly recommended, however, we do understand that couples have other obligations. Please notify the presenters if you will stay for Mass.
Are there meals provided as part of the day? Due to the many allergies and food restrictions that couples may have, we have provided one hour for couples to visit a restaurant of their choosing in the area.
What is the attire? We recommend business casual and comfortable clothing for the day.

Church entry directions? For St. Joseph Church in Strongsville, please continue to the back of the Church and proceed through parish office doors. There will be signs directing you to the room available. Please consult your GPS for directions to the church.
Active Parenting for Stepfamilies- Parenting in a stepfamily requires a combination of traditional parenting skills and a specialized knowledge that shows how step-families are different. This video series is designed to help couples work together to build a successful step-family. Topics include dealing with differences, discipline issues, avoiding loyalty conflicts, establishing limits of time, space, authority, and money; dealing with power struggles, and creating a cycle of success. Active Parenting is designed for couples with stepchildren under age 18, and can be taken by any stepparents, or by couples preparing for remarriage in conjunction with a Cana II or PREP day. Active Parenting is included in the cost of Cana II or PREP ($125 per couple); or $50 when taken without Cana II or PREP. Call 216-334-2975 for details.
