Campers are able to develop and improve skills with the bow and arrow through high-level instruction from a certified staff member. They are encouraged to practice skills they are learning or have learned, as well as to use expertise they may possess to encourage or help teach skills to others. The circle of learning and teaching becomes the norm at Camp Christopher, with the level of expertise that each camper possesses shifting throughout the day from activity to activity. We challenge campers to not only master skills but to then work with others as a team to help those individuals acquire new skills as well. Every member of the community identifies as a novice and an expert, eager to either learn or teach, depending on the activity. At Camp Christopher, there is no shame in not knowing how to do something—only in being unwilling to learn.
Regardless of the activities in which your child will participate, each day comes with exciting activities and programs. Each night has with something different—from zany costumed events to meaningful moments around the campfire, evenings bring campers together for a fun and exciting community celebration. At the end of every session, we recognize successes at our Closing Campfire Ceremony.
