Software Application Optimization Intern
Dates Needed: Spring or Summer Semester

The Volunteer Management program is interviewing intern candidates interested in serving on a software application optimization project. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to learn about volunteer management and volunteer management software. The candidate will serve with the Administrative Manager to review the current set-up of web based software used for tracking volunteers and recommend and implement improvements that will simplify use for the end user.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to interact with end users to learn what challenges staff are experiencing.
Candidates must have an understanding of complex software set-up. Must be able to work effectively with others, including a high level of verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
This position has the possibilities for providing service remotely.
Human Resource Intern
Dates Needed: January 23-May 12, 2017

The HR Intern will directly assist the HR team with a wide range of projects, including but not limited to, HR compliance, recruiting, on-boarding/orientation, employee benefits, and volunteer intern programs. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills she or he may have acquired in school related to his or her particular areas of interest, and apply them in a professional setting. The HR Intern will gain a better understanding of the role that Human Resources can play in a non-profit setting, and be better prepared to work in the arena of human resources and the nonprofit sector. Under supervision the selected candidate will have the opportunity to assist with sourcing hard-to-fill positions, create and maintain an Ad database, and possibly post jobs on the applicant tracking system, review and submit resumes to hiring managers for their review. The candidate will also have opportunities to network with the programs, finance, and development staff.
Internship requirements include: Must be a current or recent enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in Human Resources, or non-profit management/administrative fields and able to commit to 16-20 hours per week. Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet applications. Must have competent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Must have proven ability to work independently in an organized, time-efficient, results-oriented manner and work effectively and professionally with diverse groups at all levels of the organization. Student Member of SHRM a plus.
Information Technology Intern Needed!

Catholic Charities is interviewing intern candidates in our Information Services Department. We are looking for technology students that would like to gain experience in the following areas:
- Set-up and configuration of PC desktops and laptops from new and existing inventory.
- Provide first level support, as required
- Provide new user set-up including: imaging desktops and laptops and software installations, as well as other staff specific requirements.
- Assist with maintaining accurate inventory reporting of computer equipment and peripherals.
- Assist in other ad hoc projects, as directed by manager
The requirements for this position include knowledge of installing Microsoft Office products on Windows operating systems. Students should have knowledge of installing, configuring and upgrading Windows computers. Strong candidates be self-directed, motivated team players with the ability to multi-task, manage and complete tasks effectively. Students will need the ability to comprehend verbal and written technical instructions. The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Volunteers Making a Difference
Terrel Valentine, Program Coordinator at the Bishop William Cosgrove Center is grateful to the volunteers that supported the transition of the center’s Clothing Closet from table top distribution to a department store quality shopping experience.
Terrel shares that none of the transition could have been completed without Sue Miller, a volunteer who served 5-years on this project. Terrel says that “Sue’s dedication inspired the support of other volunteers and before she knew it, the Clothing Closet transitioned into a shopping experience that allows guests of the center to obtain clothing, shoes, and personal hygiene items and socialize for a bit each month.” Most recently, Sue had to step back from service, but her legacy lives on!
