CYO Soccer is open to boys and girls in grades 3-8. Boys and girls participate in separate leagues. Practices may begin on August 1 followed by 8-10 regular season matches. Matches are played on parish and community soccer fields. The program concludes with the exciting Championship Tournaments in October.
The goal of a CYO Coach is to facilitate a positive environment in which athletes can grow physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. For a list of the requirements to be a CYO Coach, visit the How to be a CYO Coach page.
CYO’s philosophy states that every player participates at all divisions of play. Each athlete must be treated with Dignity regardless of their ability. Participation on a team allows players to learn and understand the values of cooperation, teamwork, sportsmanship, responsibility and respect. CYO encourages each child to develop at their own pace while working for a common goal by regulating mandatory participation rules. The participation requirements are clearly defined in the sport rules. It is our Hope that each athlete can make a significant contribution to their team.
Genesis 1:27 reminds us “in the Divine image God created humanity.” CYO Athletics encourages every athlete and every coach to accept one another with compassion, respect, patience, kindness, humility and understanding.
If a player is looking to learn how to dribble the ball, defend the goal, pass to their teammate or kick a goal, CYO Soccer is the program for them.
