The Catholic Community Connection (CCC) launched its 2017 Summer Fellows Program on June 2nd. This multi-faceted fellowship program consists of eight students from John Carroll University, Notre Dame College, and Ursuline College who will serve in 10-week paid internship positions within various Catholic ministries throughout the Diocese of Cleveland. Aside from professional and leadership development, the Summer Fellows will be presented with opportunities for spiritual, vocational, and social enrichment throughout the duration of the fellowship.
Catholic Charities Diocese of Cleveland is one of eight partner organizations chosen to receive a Summer Fellow. The eight ministry sites were selected based on position description, required skills for completion of work within the internship, and the desired field of study of the student candidates.
Anne Brennan, a senior Integrated Marketing Communications major and Theology and Religious Studies minor at John Carroll University, is the Summer Fellow assigned to Catholic Charities Diocese of Cleveland. Anne is a part of the Leadership Scholars Program at John Carroll University and is a member of Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Honors Society. Along with serving as the Photo Editor for the Carroll News and as a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America, Anne is also the owner of her own small photography business.
The Catholic Community Connection Summer Fellows will report to their assigned work sites full time Monday through Thursday over the course of the 10-week fellowship. Fridays will be set aside as “Fellow Fridays”, where all eight fellows will meet together to discuss and reflect on topics such as Peace & Justice, Building Community, and Unity in Diversity. Friday meetings may also entail service projects, site visits, and various guest speakers.
The 2017 Catholic Community Connection Summer Fellows program was funded by a grant from the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland.
