The Conference of Religious Leadership (CORL) invites you to join them and tour this powerful exhibit at the Maltz Museum free of charge.
“This Light of Ours” exposes the historic Civil Rights Movement’s struggle against race-based disenfranchisement through remarkable black and white photographs. The striking images from the center for Documentary Expression and Art are the work of nine very different photographers who lived within the Southern Freedom Movement and documented the stories and experiences of its less recognized heroes—the local people and student activities who bravely stood up to change in America.
Please arrive on the 26th at 6:45pm – the tour will begin right at 7pm.
This event is free through the generosity of The Conference of Religious Leadership (CORL). CORL is an advisory body composed of the leaders of the women religious congregations in the greater Cleveland area.
This is a follow-up event from the March 12th event, “Race and Grace: Let’s Talk About It” sponsored by CORL. This is an excellent chance to keep this important conversation going! (You do NOT have to have attended Race and Grace to join CORL on this tour.)
