The 30th Annual Journey to Bethlehem was on Saturday, December 6, 2014. What a wonderful celebration and a joyful way to start the Christmas Season. The liturgy was celebrated by Bishop Roger Gries, along with Fr. Joe McNulty, Fr. Ben Jimenez and Deacon Ray Daull. We enjoyed the choir from St. John Vianney! Thank you to our volunteers from the International Order of the Alhambra – you are very dedicated to persons with disabilities and we are very grateful for that!

We were deeply saddened to inform you that Mary Stanescu, our Social Worker for Catholic Charities Disability Services, from 1969 to 2000, passed away in March, 2014.
Mary helped to create the foundation of Disability Services that has resulted in many services and supports to persons with disabilities. She was a quiet person of hope and love. As many of you do, we have many fond & funny memories of Mary and she will truly be missed. It is ironic that her wake was on St. Patrick’s Day because to our knowledge, she never celebrated, but was delighted when we called it a day off!

Volunteers from St. Basil Church in Brecksville threw a St. Patrick’s Day party for the students at the Continuing Adult Education Program. They prepared corned beef sandwiches, pasta salad, ambrosia and yummy desserts! Thank you St. Basil’s!
We also had a bagpiper/fiddle player – Jeff Carson! And Irish dancers – Colin, Josh & Gabby!!
Thank you everyone for a wonderful, fun day!!!
